On October 23, local time, President Sassou, who returned to Congo (Brazzaville), and his wife personally attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the completion of the Brazzaville Business Center, which was undertaken by Beijing Construction Engineering. Minister of State for Infrastructure Bouya, Minister of Finance Ondaye, Minister of Information Mongara, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Ibombo, Mayor of Brazzaville Bonsimba, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations in the DRC, Chinese Ambassador to the DRC Li Yan, relevant personnel of Beijing Construction Engineering Co., representatives of Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese in the DRC, and more than 300 people attended the meeting.




Congo’s President Sassou Nguesso inaugurated Monday October 23 the China-built Mpila Twin Towers worth $281 million in the capital Brazzaville.
“I inaugurated on Monday, October 23, 2023, the twin towers of Mpila in Brazzaville. These towers, which add a touch of modernity to our capital city, are also a source of pride for its inhabitants. They reflect our unwavering determination to modernize our country”, the African leader said on X.
Funded jointly by the Congolese government and the Chinese Export and Import Bank Exim, the twin tours are built by Chinese construction company BCEG.

The tours 135.8 meters high each will be managed by the South African Legacy Group. The holding manages South Africa’s highest skyscraper building that houses the luxurious Leonardo Hotel.
One of the tours features a 5-star hotel of 349 rooms including 8 presidential suites, 47 ministerial suites, and 114 standard rooms as well as 217 apartments.
The other tour boats business offices and spaces for visiting investors who wish to open shops in the oil-rich African country and who want to ink deals.
The tours are located on the bank of Congo River, near the port of Yoro. The construction of buildings was launched in March 2016. Authorities will host the forthcoming 2nd Congo Basin Summit slated for October 26-28 in one of the tours.
